From Christmas trees to cosy candles, roaring open fires to delicate winter blooms, there’s SO MUCH about Richard and Alexandra’s winter wedding that has took our fancy. The local couple tied the knot at the groom’s family church and later celebrated at beautiful Hampshire barn wedding venue Bury Court Barn, last November. As we’re sure you’ll agree it looks completely magical!
Here’s beautiful bride Alexandra to give us the WOW-down on her big day:
We met at school 15 years ago, so I suppose we are childhood sweethearts. We had a break during these 15 years, and then rekindled and the rest is history!
We chose to get married in Hampshire as we live close by and were thankful for this in the lead up to the wedding as we could easily pop to the venue if required. Being local we have personal connections to the area. Rich used to live in Crondall when he was younger and we also knew of the vicar who married us – were happy to be married by somebody we both really liked. We also liked the idea of being close to London for logistical reasons, so it was easy for friends and family coming down. It’s an easy location to get to, and it’s also a beautiful part of the world which is a big plus!
We had strong opinions on what we wanted…
We found our suppliers through word of mouth mainly. We both had strong opinions on what we wanted so didn’t need much advice. I knew who we wanted as a photographer straight away (Jason Mark Harris) as he had done two of my close friends’ weddings previous to ours and we both loved his work. That was one of the most important parts as photos are for life so it’s worth every penny if you find the right photographer. My sister-in-law’s friend did our flowers who is a local florist (Hannah Berry Flowers) and she was so good at capturing exactly what we wanted and her attention to detail was spot on.
