Taking the majority of their inspiration from American barn weddings on Pinterest, this creative pair got hands on making nearly EVERYTHING and we’re sure you’ll agree: it looks AH-MAZING!
Got that notebook and a cuppa? Good! Here’s beautiful bride Sarah to spill the beans about her DIY dream Kent barn wedding!
We met on Facebook
We met via Facebook, through mutual interests. Steve randomly messaged me and though I’d usually ignore messages from strangers I decided to reply. After chatting for a week we met for a date. We met at Highgate station (North London) grabbed some coffees and went for a walk in the woods. It had been snowing (December) and the woods resembled Narnia, it was beautiful.
Roll on 1.5 years, on a very lovely sunny day, Steve surprised me and proposed to me in that very same wood.
While it took us a while to find, Preston Court was absolutely perfect- fitting the theme and feel of the day we wanted, as soon as we saw it online, we just knew.
We found most of our suppliers online. During planning I changed jobs which affected our budget, so we had to be clever about what we prioritised.
Pinterest was invaluable
Pinterest was invaluable. I pinned a huge amount of American rustic barn weddings, vintage wedding and DIYs for inspiration. I’d describe our wedding theme as rustic, DIY with a nod to vintage! Our wedding colours were white, cream, peach and mint.
