Howdy! Today we’re heading to the good ole U-S-A (well, in style and spirit anyway) for Debbie and Simon’s amazing Native American themed wedding!
This Norfolk wedding at the cool and quirky Cliff Barns had nods to America’s iconic South West with a Trail Mix bar, a pony station, dreamcatchers, cacti, bold colours and SO MUCH MORE, all captured beautifully by Charlotte from Three Flowers Photography.
Photographer Charlotte told us: “Debbie & Simon’s wedding was truly unique and a thrill to shoot,” she told us. “It was a weekend long celebration, with such a relaxed feel to it, I was made to feel truly welcome. Debbie had worked wonders on the Navajo styling and the couple made sure there were lots of personal touches, getting family and friends involved in the stationery and DIY decor.”
“The colours Debbie and Simon chose were vibrant with cacti, dream catchers and a trail mix bar! The kids were not forgotten either and had been given hobby horses to enjoy! It really was a photographer’s dream!”
It certainly looks it too! The couple who met at work were hands-on (as were family and friends!) to make their Navajo day a reality:
“We were really lucky to have family and friends offer to help us make things– so with their help, we tried to make as much as possible ourselves to save money, but also to ensure our style and theme came through,” bride Debbie explains.
“We designed and printed the invites, orders of service, menus and guest book cards ourselves.”
“We also bought a twig wreath and made it into a dream catcher for our table plan and we created smaller dream catchers to decorate the marquee with,” she adds.
“We made the ‘Trail Mix Bar’. We filled assorted jars with savoury snacks, and decorated plain paper tubs to serve in. I collected glass bottles to serve our welcome drinks in, and the spent far too long decorating them with beads and feathers!”
The couple focused their big day on everyone having fun and being able to relax, chat and mingle; so much so that they sought a venue that could host them for the whole weekend! A two day wedding? Sounds AMAZING doesn’t it?
“It really helped to remove some pressure from the wedding day itself, as we knew we’d get to spend time with everyone at some point,” Debbie says.
Of course, with first-hand experience of putting together one helluva wedding, we just had to ask our beautiful bride for her top wedding planning tips…
“Get things booked as soon as you can!” she laughs. “We got engaged in September and married the following July, but we didn’t really start planning the wedding until January. Whilst it’s totally possible to plan a wedding in 6 months, we found it hard to get a band and hairdresser, as most were booked well in advance!”
Well, wasn’t that a treat for the eyes? We wished we’d been able to bag ourselves an invite to this awesome big day!
A big thank you to Charlotte from Three Flowers Photography for sharing these fab pics with us and a whole lotta love to newlyweds Debbie and Simon for chatting to us. We LOVE THIS WEDDING!
